Short answer: yes, private. No, never trained on. Your scanned pages live in your private vault. We do not ever — not now, not later, not "anonymised", not "aggregated" — use family recipes to train OCR models or LLMs. Pages can be permanently deleted in one tap. We are SOC2 audited; the technical detail is in our privacy doc. Most importantly: we know what these books mean. We would never.
Which 9 languages, exactly? What about Konkani or Sindhi? +
Today: Hindi, Tamil, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Punjabi (Gurmukhi), Telugu, Urdu, Malayalam. Plus mixed-script English code-switching ("दो tablespoons of haldi"). What if the OCR gets a measurement wrong? +
97.3% accuracy on Indian household handwriting (audited 2025). For the remaining 2.7%: every recipe is reviewed by a human editor fluent in the source language before your book goes to print. You also get a side-by-side editor in the app — original photo on the left, transcription on the right, one-tap to fix. Margin notes are preserved verbatim, even when illegible (we mark them ❀ "Dadi's whisper" and show the photo). Bottom line: nothing wrong goes into your hardcover.
